default
Posted on Tue, 4 Nov 2014
Question: Hi, thanks for the follow up. I've been using an inversion table to try a repair 3 compressed discs in the lower back. What I have found is my back is hurting a bit more. Is this because the discs are starting to come apart or am I over doing using the inversion table?

Brief Answer:
Not due to healing discs.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain in the back that started after using the inversion table is likely to be a muscle pain due to inadequate warming up exercises before starting or muscle spasm. This is not suggestive of healing discs.
It is best to decrease the use of inversion table, do adequate warming up exercises, do a hot fomentation of the lower back and get a muscle relaxant prescribed in case the pain is severe and persistent.
I hope this answers your query.
