What Causes Back Pain After Sitting For A Long Period Of Time?
Question: My name is XXXXXXX I'm a 6'7" powerlifter. I weigh 270 pounds. Here lately I've been having some lower back issues. My back only hurts when I've sitting for a long period of time, bending over EXCESSIVELY FORWARD, and when I put pressure on my lower back in a horizontal fashion. I can still squat and deadlift heavy with no pain at all. I also have no leg numbness or weakness. I first noticed the pain about 3-4 months ago when I was squatting heavy 3-4 days a week. The pain wasn't sudden and rapid but rather a slow soreness and tightness that never went away completely. Ive been told that it is a annular disc tear, however I've been reading comments from people that have that and they seem to be in extreme pain, where as I am not, not yet anyway.
Brief Answer:
You have stronger muscles and your disc prolapse isn't severe yet
Detailed Answer:
Hi there
Thanks for the query
Usually those with strong abdominal and back muscles experience lesser pain than their counterparts.
The disc has probably prolapsed for a small degree and isn't yet compressing the nerve roots.
Avoid bending forwards or lifting weights.
Perform physiotherapy for neck strengthening exercises.
You can take Tablet Ibuprofen 400mg twice a day after meals and Tablet Rabeprazole twice a day before meals for 5 days.
I hope I have answered your query.
