Question: I had back surgery in XXXXXXX 2015. I am still having pain. I had two laminectomies L11 and L12. I am considering acupuncture. I also had a cyst removed. I do exercise but I am still in a considerable amount of pain. I cannot have massage no matter how mild. I am somewhat frustrated. Presently, I am using a cane my balance unsteady. when I am outdoors.

Generally, such long time after a surgery, you should feel some improvement, and for sure the pain should not be that strong.
From your description it seems that there might be something wrong with the surgery and instead of feeling better, you find it more painful.
I suggest you to consult your orthopedist and have spine MRI done to see the spine condition.
