Take omeprazole tablet(OTC)
Detailed Answer:
The pathophysiology of gas and flatulence is complicated.
Hi,
Thanks for query.
Aa per your query most likely your symptoms are due to dyspepsia which in simple terms means indigestion.
With proper medication you should be relieved in a day or so.
Take a proton pump inhibitor like Omeprazole 40 mg twice daily for 3 days along with peptobismol(Antacid) 2 tsf twice daily.
Pathophysiology behind your problem is-
There are good bacteria and fungi in our intestines. These bacterias and yeast are responsible for proper digestion and fermentation of food.Even minor disturbances in gut microflora can lead to significant changes in gut function, including gas.
If this microbiota is disturbed food is improperly fermented causing production of large amount of gases in gut leading to severe flatulence. In old patient mobility of intestines is severly compromised leading to accumulation of large amount of gases in intestines. As persitaltic moments are week gas accumulates in intestines.
So A probiotic like VSL# 3 should also be taken twice daily for a week.
Hope i answered your query well.
Regards!

Referred pain.
Detailed Answer:
Hey there,
See when large amount of gas and acid is formed in intestine,It compresses the adjoining areas.
Many parts of our body are supplied by same nerves or parts of the same nerves(Dermatomes).
So an increased pressure or compression in a particular area can cause referred pain in adjoining area due to common nerve supply.
