This is is directly linked to my digestion as when I get up move about do some rotations etc I notice movement in my intestines. Eventually I pass wind. Once I have passed enough wind the heart rate calms down snd I can go back to sleep. Some nights this takes 3 hours to resolve.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

I passed carefully through your concern and would like to explain that your symptoms seem to be related to irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and anxiety.

Anxiety plays an important role in exacerbating the symptomatology of irritable bowel syndrome and heart palpitations.

That's why controlling anxiety is the first step to follow.

In this regard, optimizing your daily life-style profile and increasing your outdoor physical activity, avoid stimulants like smoking contacts, any alcoholic and caffeinated drinks.

In addition, an anxiolytic drug like Alprazolam (Xanax) 0.25 mg daily for 1-2 weeks could be helpful as well.

Also, an anti-flatulent drug like Simethicone (Mylicon) would decrease the amount of gas inside the intestine.

Foods profile modification is necessary in this regard (avoiding spicy and fatty food, sweet drinks, vegetables (such as green peppers, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, onions, peas and raw potatoes, etc.).

Anti-spastic therapy may be used intermittently as well as a gastric antisecretory drug (Pantoprazole, Omeprazole, etc.).

Avoid large amount meals and having late dinners.

Hope to have been helpful to you!
