
What Causes Belching From Gas, Chest Pressure And Abdominal Discomfort After A Meal?

Question: Every time I eat or drink something, I start belching from gas, pressure in my chest and a lot of abdominal discomfort. I recently took antibiotics for bronchitis.

A course of antibiotics will have altered your intestinal flora significantly. As a result you are experiencing increasing flatulence. If the course of antibiotics for bronchitis is done then I would suggest the following.
1. Avoid oily food products.
2. Plenty of water.
3. Probiotics.( sachets containing culture such as econorm to be taken twice a day}
In case if they are not available then buttermilk or yogurt should suffice.
If the aforementioned remedies do not give results after 2 weeks for treatment then a upper GI endoscopy will help.

You can start with buttermilk with lunch and supper. Once you start feeling better you can switch over to a yogurt at breakfast.
