What Causes Bilateral Hip Pain, Lower Back Pain And Pain In Groin?

default
Posted on Fri, 26 Dec 2014
Question: Hi, I am still in a state of panic, but I am also resigned to the fact that I have genital herpes. Since before my last period, which was November 13th, 2014, I have been experiencing bilateral hip pain, lower back pain, and pain in my groin with possible swollen lymph nodes. I also have an itchy vulva, with white thin vaginal discharge, however no blisters or ulcers present. I did notice on my groin that I had two sores, but they did not look like blisters abd they did not open or drain. I do have folliculitis and believe it is not herpetic folliculitis. I cannot see my doctor until the 19th of December and I am driving myself crazy and just want answers. I was tested negative for hsv1 and 2 at the end of September via blood test. The reason why I asked for a blood test was because I had some of the classic symptoms of an initial herpes outbreak, but with no blisters. I have been seeing a gentleman since July and he tests through the army and swears he is clean. I have never seen any blisters or open areas on his body. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Brief Answer:
Unlikely to be herpes.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for query.I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
Bilateral hip pain , back pain, white discharge , persistent lesions or pain ,usually not due to herpes. Moreover the lesions are not present. You already have folliculitis.
There can be other causes like PID which can cause similar symptoms. The herpes antibodies test have come negative earlier. So unlikely to be herpes.
So do not get anxious .
You may need a course of antibiotic.Antiinflammatory analgesic like brufen can be taken for now.
So consult your doctor for examination , investigation and treatment.
You can get back for any clarification.
Thank you

PID Usually occurs with an untreated STD? I am kind of freaked out about that. What could the white discharge mean? It doesnt seem to smell. I have thought I may have bacterial vaginosis. I have read that that can cause PID? An ex boyfriend gave me trich last September, however that was cleared up woth antibiotics, could this still cause PID? I apologize for all the questions, I am very anxious and cannot wait to gosee my Doctor.
