What Causes Bitter Taste In Mouth After Tooth Extraction?
Question: I had my lower left wisdom tooth pulled 3 days ago. Since then, I've noticed a bad taste in my mouth, somewhat bitter. I've used gauze, and noticed that there's a yellowish-brown liquid soaking into the gauze. It smells horrible. Is this normal? I'm scheduled for a checkup appointment in 4 days, but I'm not sure if I should go back earlier if this is a serious problem.
Brief Answer:
you should get yourself clinically examined earlier.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.
After reading your post, it seems that there is pus collection in the area of extracted tooth. You should get yourself clinically examined and investigated by your doctor. You may need an antibiotic like Ciprofloxacin 500mg twice daily for treating the infection. Keep your oral cavity clean. Further medical management can be planned according to the clinical evaluation done by your doctor.
I hope this is helpful to you. If you have any further query, I will be happy to help.
Regards. Thanks.
