What Causes Black Spots In Urine?

default
Posted on Fri, 13 Oct 2017
Question: I am noticing black specks in my urine and sometimes in my underwear. My urine has checked out fine and so has blood work. I have had scans. Nothing ever shows up. For a month I had back pain, frontal pain, fevers and these black specks. My period came and it symptoms paused. Now I feel like they might be starting up again and I'm finding the black specks again.

Brief Answer:
Rule out vaginal infection/pelvic inflammatory disease

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic for your health concern

Since you have had extensive work up for evaluating kidneys and bladder, and the symptoms are still persisting, possible pelvic inflammatory disease need to be ruled out.
Pelvic inflammatory disease is caused by bacterial infection (chlamydia, gonorrhea) of vagina, uterus and tubes. It can present as pain, fever, and discharge (which might be the bock specks you are noticing)
Vaginal swab microscopy and culture can confirm the diagnosis.
Please be advised to follow up with your Gynecologist for further evaluation and management.
