What Causes Bleeding Of Nose When I Blow Nose?

Question : Blood mixed with phlegm right after waking up in the morning.its happens once or twice a month for the last 5months. I dont know what if its from my nose,throat, or lungs. There are times when i blow my nose that i see blood that looks similar to the blood in my phlegm, there are times when i hock it up from my nose and spit it out when blood in it.there are also times that after waking up i would cough up phlegm from my throat and see blood.after three spits or so though it disappears.i went to the doctor about this and he did cbc,cmp,tsh, and listened to my lungs and he didnt see anything. So basically the first time it happened was 5 months ago right after i got a flu. i have anxiety for three years now.not taking any meds for it. i have been always thinking about my health since.

Hi dear.Thankyou very much for your query.

Blowing your nose/nose picking since this leads to trauma of blood vessels and thus bloody sputum.This is one of the most common pathology which don't require treatment.

I would be glad to know some more information to rule out other conditions-
Do you have any history of cough(for more than 2 weeks), difficulty in breathing/breathlessness?
What is the quantity,color of blood?Is it blood streaked sputum or XXXXXXX blood?
Do you suffer from rhinitis frequently?Are crusts frequently formed in your nose?Do you often clear your nose?
Is there any family history of lung diseases?

Though the lung fields were normal, I were to do a chest X-ray and evaluate further.Suggest an ENT examination to rule out local pathology.

Why do you feel anxious?Are you stressed?It is always important to identify the trigger for anxiety.I would treat(with meds) anxiety especially when it disturbs lifestyle.

Kindly upload the reports of the tests that you have undergone.
