Ma'am,
I've already purchased the prescribed quantity.
Could you elaborate on what could be likely implications of taking the prescribed dose thrice a day for 20 days? The prescription was by an MD whom we visited for years. I am forwarding the prescription for your reference.
I had read some other patients questions and doctor's answers about a week ago. In each case, I had noticed that an answer by the doctor was peer reviewed by another MD. I am wondering why the exception in my case?
The answer to this question was quite obvious even to me based on the research I had carried out and submitted along with the question to see if my own observation was on correct tract. And, therefore I didn't gain much from this consultation.
I had mentioned of the two injections which were advised to me every year for three years. Instead of injection, can there be a drug which can be taken orally? That is the issue on which if I were to receive some "useful input" then that would add value to the service I received.

Brief Answer:
Standard full course against HS is prescribed
Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
The rash/blisters on your hand are considered to be Herpes Simplex, by your physician.
Even though its not a typical clinical picture,a full standard course of valacyclovir has being prescribed to you.
This consideration is chosen based on your age ,which can occasionally have latent HSV infections in the elderly age group.
But a dose of 1g a day for only lesions on the hands for 10 days also is clinically relevant.
Finally its the doctors choice to go on the prescribed drug schedule.
The prescription in your case can have occasional side effects like nausea, constipation with transient alterations in complete blood picture.
Regarding the peer review, you are not an exception.
The discussion of ours will also be subjected to peer review, once you close the discussion and give your rating and review.
Regarding the injections, the oral forms are not available.
Only the injectable forms are biologically efficacious.
Post your further queries,if any.
Thank you.

Thank you, Doctor, for your detailed answer! I appreciate.
It seems that dosage consumed so far should suffice 500 mg x 3 per day x 8 days equivalent = 1 gm for 12 days. May be I should talk to my chemist to take back remaining packets. You have mentioned 'a full standard course has been prescribed to you' but is this 500mg x 3 x 20 full standard course? For manufacturer's documentation doesn't seem to say so. Naturally, I am bit confused. Comments please!
I am a bit perplexed as to how I could have contracted STD given my total abstinence from any form of sexual contact with anybody for more than last 10 years, and earlier one single partner for 20 years. The housing society is fairly neat and clean, my house is also kept hygienically clean while mopping floors, and have annual contract with Pest Control of XXXXXXX To the best of my knowledge, no one in my family, father, mother, and brother had any history of STD. Under these circumstances how would I have contracted this virus is truly perplexing to me. Comments please!
For a little over 1 month I started taking BioGreen's Karela juice for sugar, for past 10 days started taking Neem juice for skin, and going to start Amla juice for strengthening immune system. Besides, I take one liter milk everyday and planning to add turmeric powder to the milk. Comments please!
Doctor's handwriting only doctors can follow, and mostly chemists also, but in this classic case, not even chemist can decipher the handwriting. This typing media is far better.
Could you kindly tell me the exact spellings of injections prescribed and their generic names please?
Thanks, again.
With regards,
XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Herpes Zoster a preferbale term.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir.
1.Yes you can give back the remaining medicines to your pharmacy .
2.Regarding the full course-its actually for 21 days with 1gm of valcyclovir twice a day. This is the standard dose to treat a full blown Herpes reactivation. Discuss about this with doctor.
This scheduled course is not guided by manufacturer's documentation.
3.Your diagnosis is appropriately called Herpes Zoster.
It due to the reactivation of varicella zoster virus acquired during the childhood.
Kindly note its not a sexually transmitted disease.
Its absolutely baseless.
Any individual particularly elderly can be prone to this due to immune system fluctuations.
4.Yes you can have Biogreen karela .
It contains plant insulin which can accurately control diabetic state.
Regarding the injections I am really helpless regarding the handwriting.
I can only tell you it could be B12 injection or a pain killer which is usually prescribed for Zoster reactivation. You need to consult your Doctor again on this.
Thank you.
