What Causes Blisters On The Fingers While Dieting?

default
Posted on Mon, 29 May 2017
Question: I am in day 8 of the whole30 program...no gluten, dairy, alcohol, etc. Lots of meat, fish, vege
tables and fruit. today I woke up with blisters on my fingers...look like burn blisters...on three of my fingers. Am trying to decide if its from the diet or some sort of infection. No pain, no itching...just there...but full and sensitive to the touch.

Brief Answer:
A couple of causes explained- pictures would help

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for asking at healthcaremagic.

It seems unlikely that the skin lesions you are having is related to food or to the diet. In those cases it would be more generalized and would not affect just a few fingers.
The two most likely causes are hydatiform dermatitis which is a kind of local reaction and is self limiting and easily treated with local cream. This would cause itchiness in majority of patients.

The other very likely cause is herpes of the fingers. This i would expect to get painful and give you a burning sensation.

The local cream used for dermatitis makes herpes worse so it is very important to not just treat without being sure.

I would kindly ask you to send us a picture or two of the lesions on the fingers to be able to better understand the cause of it and what to be the further steps.

Kindly waiting for your reply.
