default
Posted on Mon, 16 Mar 2015
Question: Hi Doctor,
I am 25 years old girl and unmarried. My periods date this month is 21 February. And mostly I have my periods on time or 5 days late but never early. But yesterday, while urinating, I noticed some bleeding. I thought I got my periods. But after that, till now, I have noticed no bleeding. And, I am not undergoing any medication or have not taken any kind of pills and neither do I exercise nor any routine or diet change. Kindly suggest me what it is.

Brief Answer:
it might be urinary tract infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,

welcome to healthcare magic.
I understand your concern.

In my opinion as you have said that you have seen blood in urine we need to confirm whether it is from urethral orifice or vaginal orifice. It can be known by personal examination.

Blood in urine can be seen in case of urinary tract infection (UTI) associated with renal stones.Where in due to slight urethral tear while the stone is passing out might cause bleeding.

As you have not seen the blood afterwards it might not be the period. And you can wait for the period.
But I suggest you to get urine analysis and ultrasound abdomen done to rule out any renal stones.

Drink adequate fluids up to 2 to 3 litres per day and coconut water to prevent UTI.

Hope this satisfies your query.

Feel free to ask any more queries.
