Question: Hi, I am 20 years old , male, in healthy condition. Last night I mastrubated after a month and i found blood in my semen.I did not indulge in any kind of sexual activity with anyone.Is it harmul or what? Like I am in a kind of confused state.Please help!!

Presence of blood in semen can be caused my many conditions and most of them are harmless. In my practical experience 70% of individuals with bloody semen do not have any serious illness and have healthy sexual life.

In my opinion if the blood in semen does not repeat in future there is little chance that it is abnormal. In case there is further episode it is recommended to get tested for all possible causes.

In case it was fresh blood urine routine microscopy, complete blood count, coagulation profile, Liver function test, semen analysis should be done from nearby laboratory.
