Brief Answer:
Blood in urine bag is not normal.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to XXXXXXX care magic,

Blood in urine bag is not normal,it must be evaluated further by various tests.

It could be mostly due to cystitis or urinary tract infection (UTI) (which is likely catheter induced) but can also be due to injury to the urethra but I will think this possibility in last after ruling out other common possibly first.

You will need some tests like

CBC,complete urine examination, kidney function tests, cystoscopy to rule out cystitis.

Culture and sensitivity of tip of the catheter should also be sent to detect any organism if blood and urine investigations are suggestive of cystitis or UTI.

Also, your catheter needs to be changed as you have it since almost 1 month but do it only after advise of urologist or your treating physician.

Once the underlying cause is diagnosed then appropriate antibiotics can be given according to causative organism and sensitivity.

You should consult your treating physician or urologist who will know about all the relevant tests..

Hope this will help,if any doubt then feel free to ask.

Regards,
