What Causes Blood In Urine?
Question: I've had blood clots in my urine a couple of times in past six weeks. No fever or problems urinating. What could this be?

Hi,
Blood clots in urine could be indicators of nothing more than an infection if bladder IR they could also be pointers to a more sinister issue such a bladder tumour. Either way, I suggest you at least have a basic evaluation done. This includes a urine analysis, urine for cytology, an ultrasound of kidney and bladder for evidence of tumours and stones, serum creatinine for evaluation of kidney function, a urine culture and sensitivity uf urine shows evidence of pus cells. You might need to get an endoscopic procedure called cystoscopy but that will depend on the results of the tests done earlier
For the moment, please take plenty of fluids. Ensure adequate rest.

Hi, thank you for your answer and I will make an appointment for the doctor for tests. I haven't had any pain and have also been on antibiotics a few times during this time frame for teeth problems. Could this still indicate the possibility of nothing more than an infection even though there isn't any discomfort, the urine is of normal color but just has a few clots once in awhile, no fever, I've been on antibiotics, and urinating is regular without pain or urgency? Also, every time this happened it was first thing in the morning and the blood is like a small tissue particle that is red. I'm just trying to see if all of these details could still point to the possibility of being just an infection, thanks.
