What Causes Blue Spots On Small Veins Running From Inner Knee Area?
Question: What would be the cause this symptom?: on both legs from back of knee area (bend area) the first appearance I saw was several small blue spots sitting directly on or in (?) the small veins that run different directions down back, sides & around to some of front part of legs. To me it looks like bruises. As days progress the spots begin the brownish......then yellowish, etc colors just like a bruise healing.
At very beginning my lower legs itched. These were all located on the small multi directional veins and not on other areas.

As per your description, it looks like Varicose veins.The small veins are called thread veins.The colour change of spots are due to pigment deposit in the course of the veins.
In my opinion, you should get Colour doppler of both the lower Limbs. The condition of the Great Saphenous vein,Short Saphenous vein,Deep Vein will be known . Itching is also common in varicose veins.
In early stages, tablet containing Calcium dobesilate will help.You should wear Elastic stockings in both lower Limbs. Your legs should not be in dependent position most of the times.Please consult a Vascular surgeon, get examined clinically and proceed accordingly.
