What Causes Boils Under The Armpit While Treating Trichomoniasis?
Question: hi,
I have just recently been tested and treated for trichomoniasis ( using the two tabs for 7 days regime). now for the past 5 days since beginning the treatment I have had a developing boil ( i'm thinking staph ) under my arm pit. This boil has gone from pea size to well over a quarter size. Is it possible that the trich has caued this?
.....I guess its time to revisit the doctor?

Brief Answer:
Staphyloccocus is the reason
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Trichomonas is an anerobic parasite (causes Trichomoniasis) does not stay well on skin. I think the boil could not be because of trichomonas.
Staphylococcus stays on the skin and esp under the armpit, whenever it gets a chance to show its vigor, during infections uncontrolled sugar stressful states, it can penetrate the barriers of the skin causing folliculitis.
It has to be treated with oral course of Amoxycillin or Cloxacillin for 5 days. Please revisit the doctor for the prescription of the same. Meantime you can use over the counter antibacterials. Do not shave the area or touch it repeatedly to explode.
Have a good health.

Thank you,
So.....
it is not likely at all that the (STD) trichomoniasis infection has caused other infection in my system which has caused this staph to occur?

Brief Answer:
Not STD/Trichomonas
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I do not think it is Trichomonas. It is definitely another organism like staph which already exists on the skin.
