What Causes Bouts Of Dizziness When Under Stress?
Question: I have been having dizziness since doing some intense computer graphics with reading glasses a diopter too high. However, I am also under
intense pressure with a dying husband and other losses. As a 65 year old woman, I suspect there could be some heart issues connected with a couple bouts of dizziness upon awakening. These had the room spinning (after a good night's rest) and nausea. I am resisting the cardiologist with too many things on my plate right now. Advice?

Hello,Welcome to HCM.
I appreciate your concerns.
I can feel your situation madam.
I think your bouts of dizziness is mainly because of stress.
Do have qny cardiac symptoms??like breathlessness, palpitations, chest pain etc??
Please send all the reports you have done.so that i can compare.
For now just take nutritious diet ,good exercises, dont sit prolonged in front of computer.
You can take tablet alprazolam.your doctor will know the doses.
It relieves tension.
Hope this will be helpful.

In answer to your questions: I have had palpitations irregularly over the months, even years - no pain or breathlessness. I don't have any reports. This morning was the worst however. As I opened my eyes, I felt/saw a flicker/shock and the room spinning - had to close my eyes to end it while also experiencing cold sweats. It goes away after I am up and moving about.
I neglected to mention the antidepressants I take: citalopram 20mg 1x/day (before bed for one year now) and bupropion (wellbutrin) 75mg 2/2x/day (one year). This coupled with 10mg of melatonin before bed - could be causing dizziness?
I am also a 25 year breast cancer survivor (bylateral mastectomy/six months chemo). My proteins have been high lately so the doc is watching for multiple myeloma.
I don't want to overreact, especially now while my husband is so sick. Don't want to see the doctors here and have them put me through a battery of tests...

Brief Answer:
May be due to medications
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for those information.
Now i think your main problem is probably not cardiology related. This may be due to your use of antidepressant and melatonin use.
Consult your prescribing doctor for that.
I need a ecg of you to rule out the cardiology causes.
For now take cap polybion once daily,do routine blood tests and a ecg.
Hope this will help you..regards.
