What Causes Brain Aneurysms And Tremors In Hands And Lips?

Brain aneurysms and tremors in hands and lips
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for your question to me regarding your brother in law. I hope the following information is of value as you've asked on the relationship of aneurysms in the brain and tremors in the lips and hands.
These 2 entities are NOT RELATED. There is no good way to know clinically that someone has an aneurysm unless it actually bursts or "leaks." The manifestations of such an event would be severe and sudden onset headache (possible loss of consciousness) and with nausea and vomiting as well as signs of stroke such as paralysis, inability to speak, etc. These symptoms would be more akin to an aneurysm that ruptures. One that leaks would be expected perhaps some headaches...could be severe...but they generally resolve without focal neurological manifestations.
Tremoring of the lips and hands is more likely some form of movement such as either Essential tremor or some type of Parkinsonian condition. Aneurysms cannot be predicted to be present based upon symptoms of tremor.
Diagnosis of brain aneurysm can only be accurately done by way of either an imaging study such as an MRA or CTA of the brain and the neck vessels or by way of an angiogram if the aneurysms are too small to be seen by MR or CT. Ultrasound is not very sensitive when it comes to some aneurysms which are based high up in the neck or in the brain.
Diagnosis of the tremors is best accomplished by having your brother in law visit with a doctor (perhaps a neurologist would be a good specialty choice in this case) who can thoroughly examine him, took a very good history, determine whether this condition may exist in the family, or be brought on by other factors such as medication, stress, or some metabolic imbalance in his system and then, determine the best medication or intervention.
