What Causes Breast Pain While On Duphaston?
Question: my wife is using duphaston Tablet 10 mg.she is feeling Breast pain. what is reason for this? any symptom of pregency is this?

Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Breast pain is a very non specific symptom.
It can indicate an early pregnancy, and also can indicate approaching periods.
Some women have increased amount of density and fibrous tissue in the breasts, leading to pain, this is hormonally mediated.
Also, small cysts in the breasts can cause pain.
Over exercise or ill fitting bras can lead to this.
Why is she taking Duphaston - breast pain is a side effect of Duphaston also.
When was her last period - then I can try and explain if there are any chances of pregnancy.

So does she normally get her periods every 3 months ???
If so, please get her investigated for such irregular cycles.
The workup should include -
1. Pelvic transvaginal ultrasound scan ( this will rule out the possibility of a pregnancy also )
2. Hormonal levels - FSH, LH, TSH, Prolactin, OGTT, DHEAS, Free Testosterone, Lipid profile.
The pain is a side effect of Duphaston, if it is not major, you can ignore it.

her period is normal 28 days.we aleady check with Doctor and found no problem in our side.but until now no result.after intercourse we need to take any precouation in food , normal work?

If her cycle is normal, then it is strange that she has not menstruated since January.
Have you got a complete workup done for infertility ?
Since how long have you been trying to conceive?
please get your semen analysis done.
Get follicular monitoring to check if she ovulates.
A pelvic ultrasound and hormonal levels as advised.
Also, a laproscopy to check if the fallopian tubes are patent.
Consult an expert Infertility specialist and then proceed accordingly.
She should take daily folic acid supplements, exercise daily and maintain ideal BMI.
Avoid late nights, stress, binge eating etc.

Her last period date is 24.march 2014.her age is 24 and weight is 46 kg.before she took medicine for allergy more than 5 years.We trying to conceive more than 1 year.
