What Causes Bright Red Mucus During Diarrhoea?

yesterday and I have some bight red mucus when I went to the toilet today
Its likely the diarrhea is of infectious cause
Detailed Answer:
Hello
thanks for using health care magic
the appearance of bloody mucus in your stool makes the diarrhea more serious and more of a dysentery.
Dysentery is caused by a diverse group of pathogens including campylobacter, E. coli, Shigella, Entamoeba etc.
Treatment relies on adequate rehydration with oral rehydration salt. Antibiotics are not routinely given and generally reserved after stool exams so as to treat the specific pathogen. Absence of stool exams, empiric treatment is given containing antibiotic and anti-amoebia. Common combinations include; metronidazole and bactrim, ciproflaxacin and metronidazole etc.
If you are having fever i.e. increase body temperature, then antibiotics are indispensable.
Hope this helps. If you have further query, i will be glad to respond.
Best regards
