What Causes Brown And Black Spots In The Armpit?

Question: Noticed some brown and some black spots in armpit 10 months back which are not going away.
Recently 2 started at back of neck which is often covered with hair.
These are sometimes itchy and have burning sensation sometimes.
the burning sensation and itchiness will increase if the weather is cold.
what could it be? I can upload pictures.

Ive gone through images uploaded by you.
It looks like tinea versicolor. It is a fungal infection of skin.It occurs due sweating and humidity. Apply clotrimazole cream twice daily over affected area.Use Scalpe shampoo for bathing.
U can also take Tab.Fluconazole 400mg one stat after consulting your doctor.

Hello Doctor,

Thanks for getting back with so much details.
I have one follow up question.
I want to mention that this is for my mother and she said she recently visited a doctor and he prescribed Azithromycin tab 500 mg, tab Taczinle and Candiderma ointment which she used for 5 days.

So, since this is fungal infection, she can use this clotrimazole cream right? How long should she use Fluconazole 400 mg?

Also, how long does it take for these spots to disappear completely?
Do you prescribe any specific shampoo?

Hi,
Take only one tablet of Fluconazole 400mg .
You can apply Candiderma ointment twice daily fir 15 days.
Also you can use Scalpe shampoo for hair wash.
Spots usually take around 3 weeks for disappearance.

Single tablet of fluconazole.

Use single Tablet of fluconazole 400 mg. Do not repeat.No side effects at this dose.Can be taken while on zyrova 10mg.
