Brief Answer:
causes are many
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us about it.
The Brown discharge after 14 years of hysterectomy is not considered normal and requires evaluation.
There are so many causes of brown discharge vaginal infection, excessive vaginal dryness (due to lack of estrogen), malignancy etc..
Before answering your query I want to ask few questions so I will be able to impart my opinion to you.
-Which type of hysterectomy, you experienced total or partial hysterectomy?
-Ovaries were removed or not?
-Brown discharge associated with whatever other symptoms like odor, pain, burning in micturation, fever etc?
Please revert back to me with my answer.
Hoping to hear from you soon.
Good luck.

Hysterectomy included uterus and the left ovary. Discharges were rather insignificant ad associated with NO other symptons at all.
Brief Answer:
Consult your doctor.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Nice to hear from you all again.
In my opinion you should consult with your treating doctor and get your examination and investigation done to find out the cause.
You should go for Pap Smear and biopsy to rule out the cause.
Your case may be, it is due to senile vaginitis (dryness of the vagina) but malignancy should always keep in intellect. (although it is rare)
Hope it is helpful to you, feel free to ask more questions.

I expected a bit different approach than to send me to go to the doctor. I dont have health insurance and dont have a treating doctor since i wouldnt have needed a treatment since the hysteroctomy. Is there anything else you can suggest like how to have those tests without the doctor's referral and paying by cash
?
?

Consult your doctor.
