Brief Answer:
There is nothing to be worried about

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

Brown colored spotting is due to old blood in the uterine cavity and is a common occurrence during early pregnancy. It is not indicative of miscarriage or harm to the baby.
If she develops abdominal pain, XXXXXXX red colored spotting or bleeding, please be advised to follow up with the emergency room. In such cases miscarriage becomes a concern.

Hope this answers your question

Thank you, Doctor, for the prompt reply.

Today she had another spotting but it was red and just a dot and no bleeding .

She notices it only when she wipes with the tissue after passing urine.

She has no abdominal pain .

Please advise .

Follow up answer

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,

Tiny amount of red spotting observed during wiping is not concerning. During lregnancy cervix has abundant blood flow, which causes tiny blood vessels to break during straining, coughing, sneezing and sexual intercourse.
If she does not have any other associated symptoms there is nothing to be worried about.
However, please keep a close watch to see if the spotting worsens or the spotting is persisting. In both cases, follow up with her Obgyn. A pelvic examination and vaginal USG can be taken to assess the pregnancy at that point.
