What Causes Burning And Irritation In Scrotum After Shaving?

Question: When I shave my scrotum and then allow the hairs to grow back after about 1 week I experience a localized burning/irritation over an area of my scrotum. When I shave again the sensation goes away. As a background I had condom protected oral sex performed on me 2 years ago and condom protected hand job performed on me 9 months ago. I don't see any visible warts. Could you please comment and is there an STD component. Thanks
Brief Answer:
No risk of STD
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I am Dr. Kakkar (MD, Skin and STD). I have read your question and I have noted your concern.
Burning and irritation is most likely due to hair growing back rather than due to anything else.
Condom protected oral sex is absolutely safe and there is no risk of an STD. A handjob is safe, whether or not it is condom protected.
Regards

Thank you. Would you include hpv as well? What is likely the cause of the sensation that I am experiencing
Thank you
Thank you
Brief Answer:
No riks of HPV
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Genital Hpv is also transmitted by vaginal or anal sex, rather than by hands or by oral sex and that too a protected one. There is no risk of Hpv
The burning sensation is due to hair growing back and would subside if you allow the hair to grow longer.
