Question: I have a sharp searing/burning type pain in the muscle between the scapula and spine. Ibuprofen not very effective. Ice a little.

You can get your vitamin B12 levels evaluated and have electrolyte rich fluids and see if it helps. Doing a hot compress and taking an oral muscle relaxant can also help.
