What Causes Burning Sensation Around Stomach And Abdomen, Diarrhea, Gas And Bloating?
Question: I am a 34 year old male, 6'4" and weigh 350lbs. I smoke and I drink on the weekends. My diet is horrible and I never work out. That as a preface, on to my condition. For the last 10-12 days I have been experiencing stomach discomfort in the form of gas, bloated feeling, and burning in my stomach and abdomen before experiencing diarrhea. The diarrhea was relentless for the 12 day stretch. At least between 4 to 8 times per day. I haven't lost appetite nor have I lost weight, however, I tried to eat as little as possible while experiencing whatever was happening in my "guts". As of yesterday, the diarrhea has stopped but the gas, bloat, and burning are still there and my stools are clay colored. I'm beginning to become worried. Please help.
Brief Answer:
Bacterial infection of intestines.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Your symptoms are most likely caused by gastrointestinal infection (so called food poisoning). Due to bad bacteria presence in your digestive tract you can get all mentioned symptoms. As the diarrhea has already stopped you may not visit a doctor at this point. Bloating and strange stool color indicate that some bacteria has left in the intestines.
That is why I suggest you to start probiotic intake. This should help in few days. If no, than you should consult your doctor and have stool test done.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
