What Causes Burning Sensation During Urination, Blood In Urine, Fever And Chills?

default
Posted on Thu, 20 Aug 2015
Question: Today I started going to the restroom often. It burns and my urine has blood in it. I don't have fever or chills. I did have a uti the last week of May. I also had a yeast infection that lasted 5 weeks. I have been clear of yeast for about 2 weeks now, the uti cleared up with antibotics in 3 days. Should I have another round of antibiotics? Would Bactrim be good?

Brief Answer:
Need to take medications for 10 days.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have increased frequency f and burning urination and hematuria suggesting active UTI.

Please get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Please take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefixine along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkalizer thrice daily .Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to drink more water .To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.
