Brief Answer:
pepcid/zantac with proton pump inhibitor

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Gastritis (irritation , inflammation of the stomach) can occur with alcohol use.

In addition to the peptobismol, you may want to consider other forms of medication that are normally used in reflux.

Though the proton pump inhibitors are the best medications for this, they may take a little while to kick in . Eg of proton pump inhibitors are nexium, prilosec, prevacid, aciphex, protonix

Because they may take a little while before they have an effect, you can use pepcid or zantac with one of these.

May also need to change your diet today and possibly tomorrow to exclude any spicy or acid foods.
Use small quantities of food. Large quantities would stimulate acid secretions

Treatment summary: (1)Use pepcid or zantac along with one of the proton pump inhibitors mentioned
(2)can continue peptobismol as well, these are all different families of drugs
(3)alter diet

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
