Posted on Thu, 11 Feb 2016
Question: Hi. I am experiencing burning skin like a niacin flush down my arms and across my back. My mouth feels like it is burned and my eyes burn. My urine is very strong at times. I also have a metallic taste in my mouth during the night. My PCP told me to try Allegra, it didn't help. Could this be my blood pressure meds?

Brief Answer:
It could be peripheral neuropathy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Burning skin sensation is a common symptom encountered in people suffering from peripheral neuropathy.

Not all antihypertensive drugs cause those symptoms, amiodarone for example, can cause peripheral neuropathy.

Metallic taste in mouth and burning eyes could be also side effects of drugs, so there is need to know what drugs you are using actually and those used in the past, in order to have a better understanding of your concerns.

Allegra is an antihistamine drug used to treat allergies and itchy skin.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Awaiting for more information about drugs you are using......
