Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had CABG in Jan 2007 among other medicines Tab Cordarone 200 then 100 were there. That TSH level was high. Taken Eltroxin 50 and presently taking Thyronorm 75 even though my TSH (3+). Having irregular heart beat. Is the dose of Thyronorm at this stage required.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You can do a thyroid function test and check the TSH and FT3 and FT4 level. Thyroxine dose can be adjusted based on TSH level and not based on heart rate. You can consult a cardiologist and get an ECG done to rule out any arrhythmia or abnormal waves and he will direct you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
