Question: I've just been treated for a UTI, which didn't cause burning, only frequent urination, but now my clitoris burns for some time after urinating.

Brief Answer:
fungal infection likely

Detailed Answer:
If your vulval region is red in colour and is burning there is high probability of fungal infection especially candida. You can take antifungals like clotrimazole powder or cream for topical application which will clear fungal infection. If pain still persists then clinical examination is mandatory. I also suggest you repeat urine test if you have not after completion of treatment. Drink plenty of water.
Thank you.

Unfortunately I am boarding a plane cross country in a few hours for my 80th birthday celebration. I have been thirsty during the night and drank plenty of water, and the burning at the base of my urinary tract has subsided. I wonder if the sulfur antibiotic I was taking up until 3 days ago could have caused this irritation?

Brief Answer:
antibiotic not the cause

Detailed Answer:
Antibiotics do not cause vulval irritation. It is either allergy or fungal infection. Apart from antifungal s also check if there is something causing allergy. If it is not troubling you much, wait and watch and go ahead with the birthday party.
