Thank you for the response and information. I'm providing the answers to your questions, below. Please advise if your initial suggestions change:

He has only recently (in the past three months) begun to experience this. He has not had any serious illness in his lifetime (although in childhood, he had his tonsils removed - I don't know how serious that was).

He does not regularly take any medication for any condition, has not had any surgeries, and hasn't made any regular or prolonged hospital visits. He does not use recreational drugs, and is skinny or just about normal weight for a 5' 8" male.

He's active in his lifestyle but his diet might not be considered perfectly balanced. He eats a mixture of healthy and non-healthy foods; and does drink beer or alcohol in social situations. Like other family members, once he got to age 40+, he needed eye glasses for vision issues. He has one child.

He has since seen two doctors and was given muscle relaxers and pain medicine (not certain which ones).

Please let me know if I can answer any additional questions.

Thank you.
