What Causes Burning Sensation In Leg And Foot?

Transient nerve compression/Mckenzie exercises/Some investigations.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I have read your previous queries in detail and feel concerned for the neglected medical and surgical management you have been through.
However, your present query related to burning in leg and foot which got alleviated on changing position, has a clearly defined answer here:
1)This burning sensation relieved on changing position,so this is not likely a fixed pathology. It is possibly a posture induced lumbosacral nerve radicular compression or a transient nerve compression.
Remedy-If this problem starts bothering you frequently,it is better to go to an expert physiotherapist and learn some XXXXXXX spinal exercises.I am sure if you do them on regular basis, your problem will get resolved.A chiropractor can also help.
2)Some of the medical causes that can result in transient burning sensation in legs are:
Diabetes
Alcoholism
Thyroid disorders
Vitamin B12 deficiency
Hypertension
Kidney disease
Some drugs(I have seen your drug history in other queries and it is not significant for causing these symptoms)
Further plan- If this problem gets frequent, get the investigations done to rule out these disorders(of course, there is no investigation for alcoholism and that is historical).Meanwhile, please start doing regular XXXXXXX exercises as suggested above. If any of the above disorders is detected, please start therapy for it.If not, continue exercises and have faith in yourself. You will show improvement in a maximum of 6 weeks of regular exercises. If no improvement occurs, nerve conduction studies of lower limbs are to be planned.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have some follow-up questions,I shall be glad to answer else, please close the thread-rate it and write a review.

I had ENG - L4, L5, S1 abnormalities but no follow thru except drugs. I will Google XXXXXXX exercises. No doubt I have had the worst continuity of care and, after two surgeries, additional problems were treated with drugs. I am off pain meds. But, since dr right after MVA said pain will go away and tests were not given attention, how would anyone figure out? I am hesitant to see a doctor esp afterSI injection caused hip pain. I was not one to go to a dr except routibe, but, healthcare today is pitiful (my experience) and once Chronic Pain was my label, all I got was injections and drugs. I refuse more tests and, until I find a dr I can trust, I will check out your recomnendation. Only my loved ones believe my nightmare. I try to condense what happened and listen to myself and am surprised I haven't been locked up.
How do the drs on this site have time to advise? I just got inappropriate injections and drugs. I thought I was to feel better once off opiates; not true but, I won't go back because I woukd appear weak. When nerve conduction tests are found abnormal, what should have been done? I had to ask my dr about results/she thought I had them???? Military is overworked and have little time. No excuse that a healthy body has been tormented.
No further surgeries/intervention/pain medicines.Just proper exercises.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for being in follow-up.
I can truly realize the mental trauma you have been through.I have sympathy and my best wishes for you.
As I said, your clinical symptom here is suggestive of lumbosacral radicular compression or irritation. The probability has been confirmed by you saying that there have been L4,L5 and S1 abnormalities on neuroelectrophysiological studies.
Believe me or not,but the best remedy is proper spinal exercises under the guidance of an expert physiotherapist. Most people don't get benefited by exercises because they keep on doing the exercises with wrong technique.
Please find a genuinely expert physiotherapist who has got the basics right.
Do regular exercises and as I said you will see the response in a maximum of 6 weeks.
For now,you had enough of pain medicines and I don't recommend to get some more.At this point of time, exercises are the best medicines for you.Since your MRI spine is fine, you will definitely improve.Have patience.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have some follow-up questions,I shall be glad to answer else, please close the thread-rate it and write a review.Your rating will be of help to me.
