What Causes Burning Sensation In The Abdomen While Suffering From IBS?
Hope you are doing well.
I am following up on my dad's condition who is suffering from IBS.
He was using sporlax and lactulose syrup for past 10 days but there is not much improvement this time. He initially took 10ML of lactulose but this did not help him with motion, so he took 25ml as per general physicians advise and it helped to a little extent.
Previously he recovered from burning sensation in stomach by using sporlac and rablet L, however he started to have the same trouble since yesterday and he is still feeling weak in the early mornings.
Please suggest further treatment. Should he go for any medical tests now?
Awaiting your response.
Thank you.
Aggressive management requireb initially.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Change from Lactulose to Pegalup.Pegalup Syrup contains Polyethylene Glycol, Potassium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, and Sodium Bicarbonate as active ingredients.
Results are usually much better then lactulose.
Start with doses of 30 ml twice daily and it could be increased or decreaed as per body response.
Along woth it take 3 tsf isabghul husk.
Soak it in XXXXXXX warm water for 15 ninutes and when it swells up have it before going to bed.Its a bulk laxative and would help forming bulk.
Continue taking Rablet l once daily in morning.
Tablet acotiamide(acugut) thrice daily.
For probiotic give him Econorm sachets thrice daily.
To assist digestion and release of enzymes give Aristozyme syrup 2 tsf three times a day.
Syrup Mucain gel 15 ml dissolved in half cup water thrice a day.
We need to go for aggressive management as basic management is not helping.
After 10 days of this therapy we would consider adding Acotiamide and antianxiety pill like Escitalopam.
Don't worry abd have a practical approach he should respond to these meds.
No tests suggested right now.
Patient in observation for 10 days.
