What Causes Burning Sensation In Vagina During Urination?
Question: about 2.5 years ago I had hurting outside my vagina on 1 side. I went to the gynecologist. he couldn't see anything but gave me hormone ointment--but did not help. slowly the spot got red and I went back to family dr. he gave me other ointments. it finally went to the other side of vagina also. it has hurt more and more and it burns when I pee. the spot looks raw. it did bleed at one time. when my husband and I had sex it hurt until penis was in all way. we are avoiding sex now--for 2 months. I have made an appointment with a new gynecologist but she cant see me for a month. is there anything I can do sooner to help? anything I can get my family dr to do?

It is now red and raw looking on both sides of the vagina entrance. It is painful with a burning feeling. At times it feels like it is draining a bit. My doctor checked for a yeast infection but it was negative.
I do not know how to send you a picture on this site. I think I could email a picture from my phone, if I had an email address to send it to. Could you provide me such an address?

Brief Answer:
This is vaginal yeast infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
This appears to be vaginal yeast infection and not skin. Hence it has nor responded to ointments.
You need antifungal vaginal pessaries. I am not sure if they are available over the counter. Please insert vaginal pessaries containing clotrimazole every night for 7 nights.
Let me know if you need more help

Thanks for the diagnosis. I talked to my regular doctor, and he prescribed this for the infection. But the pharmacy said it is no longer made. So, my doctor is trying to find a substitute. If you have a suggestion, I would appreciate it. Thanks again.
