What Causes Burning Sensation On Vaginal Area And Urge To Urinate Even After Cipro Intake?

I'm on the 4th day of cipro for a uti. The doc prescribed it for 10 days. Yesterday I felt better, but today I'm again feeling that burning sensation and the urge to go to the bathroom often. Also the wall in my vagina that shares with urethra is hard and swollen. Do I need to go see the doc again, or should I wait and finish taking the antibiotics.
Increase water intake...
Detailed Answer:
HI.
Thanks for your query.
The burning sensation on 4 th day of Cipro can be due to concentrated urine, which may get well with time if you increase the intake of water to have proper dilution of urine. Occasionally the Cipro can cause crystalluria if the water intake is less.
You may also add on urinary Alkalinizer to be taken by dilution in a glass of water.
This will help to reduce the urge to visit bathroom often.
The wall of the vagina that shares with urethra needs to be examined by Gynecologist and / or Urologist to find the cause and for proper treatment. It is not worth waiting till you complete the course.
I hope you must have gone through necessary investigations.
I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to ask further if you need to.
Wishing you early and complete recovery.
