What Causes Burning Sensation While Urinating When Diagnosed With Breast Carcinoma?
Question: My aunt was diagnosed with T2N0M0 breast carcinoma and undergone qudrantectomy surgery with axillay lymph node dessection, 4 cycles of TC chemo and 21 days of radiation. She completed her radiation couple of weeks back and immediately started taking Femara hormone control tablet. She is 54 years old.
We have taken her out of XXXXXXX this week for some temple visit to coastal region and starting from this week she started complaining about burning pain and later some itching sensation. Urine culture is done and we got the report as negative yesterday and today the urine routine is done and even it seems to be normal. But she is still complaing on the burning sensation and the itching. She had taken pyridium tablet to manage the pain as per the advise from medical oncologist.
Reports are attached for your reference.
Kindly advise on the possible reason and the next treatment plan/medication.

Brief Answer:
Increased water intake and syrup alkasol
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
Burning in the urine and itching in the periurethral area can be due to urine infection or decreased water intake.
She should take plenty of fluids , around 3-4 litres a day.
Moreover, she can take the syrup alkasol 5 ml in one glass of water twice a day for 7 days.
This will relieve her symptoms.
I will advise her to get her urine culture and sensitivity examination with the morning urine sample.
This will clarify if any infection is present.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Both the urine culture and routine tests are already done and it has come negative.
We had collected the urine sample at around 10:00 AM and given it for culture.
Please suggest on other reasons for this.
