What Causes Buzzing Sounds In Ears?

As below:
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. The 'buzzing' that you have in the ears is known as Tinnitus. The most common reasons are build-up of Ear wax, recent colds, decreased hearing such as age related (Presbyacusis) and drug induced if related to Zoloft (Sertraline) and Zocor (Simvastatin).
2. Get your ears examined to rule out ear wax. Then get a Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA) and an Impedance Audiometry (Tympanometry) done. Stress, fluctuations of blood pressure, low hemoglobin, fluctuations in blood sugar levels (sometimes seen with statins) should be ruled out. Check whether the tinnitus is vascular / pulsatile (matching with the heartbeat) or changes on clenching the teeth.
3. Lipo Flavinoid is an empirical medication such as Gingko biloba, multi-vitamins and anti-oxidants which are often prescribed for Tinnitus. There is no harm in trying it out.
4. Further therapy may be discussed with your reports, if the tinnitus persists. It is important to note that in many people, the cause of Tinnitus is unknown. It is also common and difficult to cure, though it may be controlled. It has more nuisance value than the possibility of any serious disorder (less than a percent).
If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
