What Causes Changes In Color Of Semen?

Question: I see a change in the color of my semen for a month or so. There appear to be some streaks of light orange or yellow, and tiny bits of the same color. This is not associated with any pain whatsoever and this is the first time that it happened to me. Is this something to worry about.

Hello,

Minor infections like prostatitis are cause of such color changes. Nothing much is to be worried about if there are no symptoms.

Keep close watch on this, particularly for red color, which would suggest blood in the semen. Even that in most cases clears off eventually.

Few individuals are empirically treated with antibiotics for this.

Hello Doctor,

What signs and symptoms should I be looking for. I had a vericocele ligation many years ago, is this anyway related to it. I am into a desk job, sitting anywhere between 10 to 11 hours and I feel a discomfort in my prostate area when seated on an uncomfortable chair and wearing tight clothes.

1.You need to watch on symptoms like Pain, bleeding in urine/semen, burning during peeing.
2.If you have symptoms Get an ultrasound for prostate and varicocele done.
3.Get a rubber tube to sit when on desk. Its is available in pharmacies.
