What Causes Chest Congestion After Septoplasty?

Question: 6 days after septology operation
breathing zero
totally congested it is normal ?
attached picture for my nose
dr said all is normal and thats because of the laser machine for turbinate removal
i am afraid if its infection dr said not to worry this is nothing

please advice ur opinion

Welcome to healthcare magic and thanks for putting up the query again.
I have seen your pictures. The external injury due to cautery has improved and the skin has healed.
The nasal mucosa is also healthy. There is inflammation after surgery which is a part is healing process.
You should apply antibiotic ointment and use xylometazoline nasal drops. Use can wash the nose with saline solution to clean off the crusts.
The whole process may take up to 3 weeks for complete healing and the nasal nodal passage to be completely patent.

from ur experience dr
it happen in ur carrier to meet with a patient that he had permanent congestion after surgery ? and never improved even after monthes or year? incase of this exist any treatment or another surgery to make the patient breeze again ?
did happen that a patient can be congested for ever for example?

Hi
There can be many reasons for blockage of nasal passages after septoplasty.
secretions or crusts
blood clot
uncorrected deviation
synaechiae formation
septal hematoma
septal abscess
enlarged turbinate etc
All the above stated causes can be managed so the conservatively or with surgery.
My advice is you should relax for few days and if still you have a problem, get a CT paranasal sinuses done. The management will depend on the cause.
