
What Causes Chest Pain, Breathlessness, Rapid Heart Rate And Vomiting?

Question: My son played basketball and came home with his chest hurting and it hard to breathe and heart racing. He tried to eat but threw up. He did his nebulizer but still his chest hurts

No ...no chest trauma..he has had asthma but he hasn't had to use his inhaler in over a year and he plays basketball every wrek

No hes not allergic to anything... nothing this severe where yes throwing up with chills and then feeling hot and where it hurts to swallow

In my opinion , you should definitely take him to the hospital and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and chest x ray to rule out lung infection.
Since he is vomiting and can not hold oral tablets, he need intravenous injections.
He needs antibiotic, bronchodilator, anti emetic and other supportive drugs.
Once his breathing settles, get done PFT (pulmonary function test) know the severity of asthma. He may need regular inhaled treatment to prevent such exacerbation.
