What Causes Chest Pain, Shoulder Pain And Sweating After Taking Premarin?

Question: I started premarin 0.5 on april 14th. I had nuclear tests ekgs done that came back abnormal. The last several days I started having chest pains, heavy feeling, pain in shoulder, sweating, nauseau along with several other symptoms. On tuesday I was brought to er and they scheduled a heart XXXXXXX which came back negative. I am home today and started looking up side effects on a couple new drugs and premarin seems to be what is going on. Also how long does the cream stay in your systems? Your thoughts?

Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

1) Stop the premarin immediately. It usually clears away by 7 days. Cholesterol and possible heart disease are risk factors for side effects with premarin. Why are you taking it?

2) But at the same time i will consider synthyroid also as it also causes sweating, heavy feeling and chest pain sometimes. Get a TSH and T4 done to make sure you are not taking a high dose.

3) Also keep a home BP chart as you are taking Losartan with a lot of other drugs so its dose might fluctuate and cause similar symptoms.

4) Livalo is mostly safe but why are you taking trazodone?

5) Continue the aspirin for sure. Its your life saver.

1. Pain and discomfort sexual intercourse.
2. I have been on synthyoid for several years but going to set up appt with an endo doctor.
3. My bp at the hosp varied from 170/72 to 130/47 to 105/67. I always h ave quite a fluctuation in my bp.
4. The trazadone was given to me to go to sleep at night. Had trouble getting to sleep due to restless leg syndrome as the pain was incredible. This ended up being a misdiagnosis as I had a severe pinched nerve, sciatica.

Stop the trazodone and premarin. You can use KY jelly for pain during sex. Its non hormonal and safe.

Get your BP and thyroid drugs modified as i think you are badly controlled.

I take 50mg trazadone and need to know how to wheen off of it. I have gone off antidepressants cold XXXXXXX and had severe problems. Don't want to go through that route again.
