You may have panic disorder
Detailed Answer:
HI
Thanks for using healthcare magic. I, Dr Abhishek Kapoor, would help you in this query.
I think, you have anxiety disorder. May be panic disorder. In panic disorder, patients have multiple attacks of chest pain, choking sensation etc, which look like cardiac attack, but all investigations usually come normal. Same problem may be in your case. In that case, you need some antidepressant with low dose benzodiazepine that would help to control these attacks. I would prefer paroxetine for you. It is one of the best antidepressant to control anxiety symptoms. You can also try some relaxation exercise like JPMR that would keep you calm and relax. Better to consult a psychiatrist for proper management.
In case, you have more query, you can ask.

I have a really bad cough and wheeze and I can't take deep breaths not because it hurts just because my lungs don't seem to be expanding this started a week after I started with chest/arms/jaw pain
The pains get worse when I'm working or climbing stairs or talking
I'm already on 30mg mirtazapine and 30mg propranolol because my resting pulse rate is 110 since six weeks ago
Can all this be from anxiety?
Can be due to rib or muscular pathology
Detailed Answer:
Hi
If you have chest pain while talking, working or climbing, then that can't be due to anxiety. If you are facing problem in taking deep breathe, then, that may be due to any pathology related to ribs or chest muscle. If you have pain on touching chest muscle, then, it would go towards muscular or ribs related pain, which could be missed on chest x-rays. I think, you should again consult your physician for better analysis.
In case, you have any query, you can ask.

I don't feel anxious and I don't hyperventilate or panic I'm just worried because it's lasting so long and nothing helps with the pain
There isn't a chance these tests could have missed something? I do know I've had most tests but my auntie's blockage wasn't found till she had an angiogram
Try some relaxation exercise
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I think, you are comparing yourself with your aunty and that's why, you are so tense. That would be the reason for pain. You would be better, if you stay relax and do not think about these things. More you think about the pain, more it will increase. At age of 26 years, though chances of cardiac or pulmonary diseases are there, but very less. If you have got all tests done, in that case, there is nothing to worry about. Just do some relaxation exercise like JPMR and you would feel better.

That's why I'm concerned because I've been told anxiety and panic peaks and you do get relief and certain points but my chest pain/jaw and arm pain is constant it keeps me awake at night and when I do sleep it wakes me up
I try distract myself with reading, tv and music but nothing works
Everyday it gets worse and worse, I've been to a and e at least seven times over this and they say if you were older we'd keep you in but it can't be your heart at your age they gave me oramorph thinking it was costochondoritis but that doesn't give me any relief at all
I've also noticed I get very warm and clamy all the time when the chest pain is at it's worse is this normal for anxiety?
I know heart problems present themselves differently in people especially women and I guess I'm scared because everything I've been told to try doesn't help and I'm only getting worse everyday
I'm struggling to do my job (palliative hca) because it's taking over my life and my gp is stumped too
I have an appointment with him tomorrow do you recommend anything I should put to him?
Get some antidepressant
Detailed Answer:
Hi
The way, you are explaining your symptoms, may be you have generalized anxiety disorder and that usually lead to panic attack. You need antidepressant along with low dose benzodiazepine. I would suggest you paroxetine. That would help to control anxiety and keep you in shape. Better to do relaxation exercise regularly. You can try JPMR or deep breathing. These exercises are effective in controlling anxiety. Just stay positive and that would be the best solution in your case.

The pain in my chest is very tight but it's worse down my arms at this present moment Is this normal for anxiety?
It could possible in anxiety disorder
Detailed Answer:
Hi
In panic disorder, patient may have such kind of severe chest pain. Even most of time, patients have feeling of dying or choking sensation. In that case, there is nothing to worry. It would not lead to any harm on health.
I would suggest you, paroxetine as an antidepressant and clonazepam on sos as anxiolytic. That would help to control such episodes. Rest, you can discuss with your psychiatrist.

It feels much more crushing like a weight bearing down on my chest and a vice around my arms and jaw
Do you think I should go to accident emergancy? I did have an ecg on Tuesday that was ok
I know it's probably anxiety just as you said but it is so unbearable
I've also had endoscopy that ruled out anything there
Take benzodiazepine on sos basis
Detailed Answer:
Hi
In that case, you can take benzodiazepine on sos basis. When ever you feel such kind of symptoms, you can take benzodiazepine like clonazepam or lorazepam. That would help to subside these symptoms. If you have any benzodiazepine, you can take it. In case, you do not have any, then get it prescribed from emergency.
In case, you need any help, you can ask.
