1. Comparing to other people I feel the chillness / cold more.
2. If I wet in the rain for a minute or more I get cold / fever in the next few hours. It may be light drizzle or heavy downpour.
3. If I take bath with normal water even it is just the half portion (below waist) of the body, I feel like cold in the next few hours. Normally I always take bath with warm water.
4. Normally I do not use fan while sleeping. If I use fan then next day morning I feel like cold / fever, weakness etc.

These are some symptoms which I feel.
I think my immune system is weak, if yes, can you please guide me to make the immune system strong enough so that I can cope up with these things.

Brief Answer:
Thyroid Function Tests, Allergic Rhinitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query,

1. A Thyroid Function Test will help check if you have any tendency towards hypothyroidism which can explain all your symptoms. Get all your routine blood tests done including for nutritional deficiencies. A physician will be able to help you out with a detailed list.

2. Check your diet for 'goitrogens' even if your thyroid hormone levels are within normal limits but at the lower limit of normal.

3. An ENT check-up to rule out allergic rhinitis should be done. Allergic Rhinitis can be treated to control the frequent attacks of cold. A Sinus CT may be done if medication fails to control your symptoms.

4. Upload the results here for further treatment advice. This will be important in case your tests are within normal limits.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any follow up queries, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.

Thanks for quick response. I have done some blood tests last month which I am attaching. Please check. Will it be helpful. This was because of my vitamin deficiency (B12 and D) which I am getting treated from Fortis hospital.

Brief Answer:
You should feel better soon.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for writing back.

1. It is good to note that most of your blood tests are within normal limits, except for low Vit. B12, Vit D, and a slight incresae in RBC count, Hematocrit and Bilirubin levels.

2. This also means that there is no serious underlying disorder. Repeat these tests after a few weeks.

3. These are easily treated problems an you should feel better soon.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any follow up queries, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes. I have some vitamin deficiency which I am getting treated from Fortis hospital. Moreover, I have consulted a General Physician as the Bilirubin level was little high, he checked and told not to worry, it is normal. Now I want to ask you, do I need to take any treatment to lower the RBC and Hematocrit level as it is in higher side. My doctor did not suggest me anything regarding the same.

Now as you can see my thyroid levels are normal, what you will suggest? As you suggested earlier to consult with ENT for the frequent cold attacks and in addition anything is required to do. Please suggest.

Brief Answer:
Complete your current treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for writing back.

1. Correction of your nutritional deficiencies will go along way in curing your symptoms.

2. Unless you have exposure to tobacco and alcohol, or have been dehydrated, there is no need to do anything about the bilirubin, RBC counts and hematocrit. You may repeat the tests after a few weeks.

3. Thyroid problems are on of the common possibilities that have been ruled out in your case. The ENT consultation will suffice at present.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any follow up queries, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
