What Causes Choroid Plexus Cyst During Pregnancy?
Question: Good Morning Doctor,
My Wife pregnancy has 16 week and 3 days we take a USG when 15 week old. but there is a problem found in usg that was it.. A 2.3mm size anechoic cyst seen in choroid plexus of lateral ventricle. so our Dr. suggest us for Triple market Screen test and thats Reports comes as AFT-49.9, HCG 45033.00, and ESTRIOL, FREE IS 0.81 when my wife pregnancy was 15 week, Can you suggest us what we do.

There are some facts about your trouble-
First the choroid plexus cyst can be a normal finding during screening and it may resolve by its own after 6 months of gestation.
The second possibility that it can be related with genetic and chromosomal abnormalities most common trisomy-18.
In your case your triple marker test results demonstrate high level of three markers.
High level of AFP seen in neural tube defect.
In my opinion you should proceed for a repeat triple marker test because it can be false positive (ideally it should be done between 16-20 weeks) along with second level ultrasonography to see your baby's organs in detail to rule out any abnormality.
If there is any abnormality found in second level ultrasound, you should go for amniocentesis to confirm the diagnosis.
