What Causes Chronic Groin, Hip And Back Pain?
I would like to rule out spondyloarthropathy
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
With the above mentioned symptoms like chronic pain in lower back, hip and groin area for 2 years, early morning stiffness, anemia and raised inflammatory markers;I would like to rule out the spondyloarthopathy(like ankylosing spondylitis).
I would like to know if there is any associated eye symptom or other significant symptoms like burning micturition, pain in small joints
Although the imaging studies like MRI considered to be helpful in diagnosis,it may be normal if done in initial stage.
The other possible diagnosis may be autoimmune disorder, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis,Reiters disease.
So I would like to get him evaluated by a rheumatologist for clinical examination(like restriction of movement of particular joints) and to get some investigations done like ANA(autoimmune disorder),rheumatoid factor(juvenile rheumatoid arthritis),HLA B27(Ankylosing spondilytis) and repeat MRI for further assessment.
The management depends on severity and response to medications.
I request you to attach the reports so that I better able to help you out.
I hope this helps.
Please do ask if you have any more query.
