Brief Answer: hi , chronic infection of parotid gland. Detailed Answer: Hi in my opinion your mother has chronic infection of parotid gland. Parotid gland is a salivary gland present in front of the ears , which produces saliva that drains into mouth by an opening present in upper second molar tooth. If there are any stones in the duct causing blockage of secretion, then there can be infection of ths gland. If I were your treating doctor I would have prescribed anti inflammatory medicines and antibiotics to reduce the infection and pain. Then I would have advised an ultrasound scanning of the parotid gland to rule out the stones. Depending on the report, I would have treated her further. Hope I have answered your query. Thanks.

Brief Answer: Penicillin antibiotics Detailed Answer: Hi XXXXX, these are prescription medications. You cannot buy them without prescription. I advise you to meet a ENT doctor and take treatment. You can take penicillin antibiotics with paracetamol. Ultrasound scan is for the parotid gland, to rule out stones in the duct of the gland; not for the ear. Regards
