Question : Hello Doctor,
My son is coughing and down with from last 3 days. At XXXXXXX fever is ~101F and is not making him very uncomfortable.Currently I am giving him Paracetamol along with antibiotic as per doctor's prescription. He has suggested to take medicine for next 5 days.
Is it okay to run in fever for third day? Normally his fever withered away on 2nd or 3rd day after taking medicine.

Brief Answer:
No issues can wait

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
Usually cold cough can last up to a week along with fever.
Your doctor has rightly prescribed medication s.
I advice you to continue the same .
Keep a watch on his activity level, urine output, any new symptoms.
If he becomes dull with low urine output or if fever doesn't settle in another two days , you need to consult with your Pediatrician again.
Ensure he drinks plenty of liquids to keep Hydrated.
Wishing your child good health.
Regards
Dr Arun
